Swimming FuN and Safety

If I had to choose one thing me and my girls love most about summer it would be SwImMiNg! I personally love getting sun. There is nothing better than a tan body (in my opinion, it just makes a person look that much better!) I also love how refreshing the pool or lake feels on a hot summer day. Brynlee has been talking about getting in our big pool, her little pool and going to the lake for about 2 months now! We all can't wait... finally this week it has been in the upper 80's and 90's which is definitely swimming weather! Two days in a row I got out the girls little pool for them and they swam the ENTIRE day... and then they crashed at the end of the day (according to me, that is a big plus!) I thought it would be fun to put together some fun swimming ideas and safety tips since summer time is officially here!

Sisters, Having Fun!

Brynlee has always loved swimming

I had to chase Ellie around the pool while she crawled from side to side because she didn't want to get out. This girl loved her first swimming time!

If you have girls, hair can be a pain while swimming. One of the easiest, cutest and best staying hair is a 3 loop pony tail.

This picture was taken after she had been swimming all day!

What You Will Need:

3 or 4 rubber bands (you could easily add one more rubber band)
Comb
Hairspray if desired

*  Part one section on the top of the head. Put that piece in loose rubber band. Pull the rubber band back a little and loop the piece of hair up through the section of hair. Tighten rubber band. Continue this with each section of hair. It will stay all day and their hair wont be in their face!

You NEED a swimming suit cover up, they are SO nice to slip on over a swimming suit.
Especially when you are at the lake or pool, when your kids need a break from swimming but you don't want to change them yet because in 5 minutes they will be ready to swim again! :) It also prevents more sunburns!

Two piece swimming suits are great for potty breaks. Anyone ever tried to take their kids potty while they have a wet swimming suit on? It is so hard to pull all the way down. A two piece swimming suit makes it a lot easy to get off, and in most cases get it off really fast!

You definitely need a drink from Sonic while you are out enjoying the sun.
(Of course that is my own personal opinion!)

SwImMiNg SaFeTy:

1.To prevent something bad to happen while having a fun swimming day, have your kids learn how to swim. If your kids take swimming lessons it will help their chances of drowning because they will know what to do.

2. Watch your kids! Never take your eye off of them, even for a second! It only takes a few seconds for a child to drown even in shallow water.
3.Always buddy up if you are swimming. Never swim alone. Even if you are an adult or older child take someone with you.

Follow These Rules:

*Never dive into shallow water.
*Never run near the edge of a pool.
*Never swim in a pool that does not have a lifeguard.
*Never swim alone.
*Never swim in places that are not meant for swimming.
*Never leave children unattended near any body of water.

Brynlee always has floaties on in the pool and at the lake she is always wearing a life jacket. Don't take any risks, it just isn't worth it!

Last but not least... ENJOY SWIMMING!
It is something you can all enjoy as a family on a hot summer day.
I hope these fun and safe tips help you out!

As always thanks for coming by, I appreciate it! Leave comments I love reading them, especially if you have any tips to add for swimming fun.

XOXO Brooke
